Three Goals

Hi All!

I hope this post finds you enjoying a sun-shining May day. I just wanted to share our three core goals as Peace Corps volunteers, which are the same as Peace Corps volunteers everywhere. They are:

1. Helping people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women

2. Helping promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of peoples served

3. Helping promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans

So it might seem like we spend a lot of time playing the local game Chada (similar to the American game Sorry), or puttering around in the kitchen making Ghanaian dishes, but as you can now see, it’s all part of being a Peace Corps volunteer. Two of the three goals have to do with the cultural exchange aspect, which is part of why we are here. So now you know a little bit more about Peace Corps and what’s happening on our small dot on the map. I’ll now get back to playing some Taylor Swift (a very important cultural exchange point) for the ladies on our veranda. Life is really rough here, we know;)
